GRIM DAWN / SYSTEM
How to Expand Your Inventory (Bags)
On top of the base 8x12 inventory, quest rewards add up to five extra bags (8x8 each). A single Normal playthrough yields four; the fifth comes from re-clearing any one of the three repeatable bag quests on Elite (Clearing the Way is the earliest). Bags cannot be purchased. Skipping difficulties with an FG Merit auto-grants the lower difficulties' bags.

DO THIS FIRST
- ▸Want more bags? Progress the reward quests: Act 1 And Not a Drop to Drink, Act 2 Clearing the Way, Act 3 Culling the Swarm, Act 4 Precious Resources (see the linked quest pages for walkthroughs).
- ▸The fifth bag: re-clear any one of Clearing the Way, Culling the Swarm, or Precious Resources on Elite - Clearing the Way is the earliest reachable.
- ▸No vendor sells bags - quest rewards are the only source.
- ▸A character who skipped difficulties with an FG Merit receives the lower difficulties' bags automatically (see Difficulties and Merits).
- ▸Until your bags fill out, tighten your pickup filter (see the vendoring loop in Early Game Money).
01 / BAG-OVERVIEW
Slots and the Cap
- ▸The base inventory is 8x12. Quest rewards add extra bags (8x8 each), up to five.
- ▸A Normal playthrough yields at most four; the fifth comes from re-clearing one of the bag-reward quests on Elite.
- ▸No merchant sells bags - quest rewards are the only source.
- ▸Shared/personal stash expansion is a separate system (see the stash article).
02 / BAG-QUESTS
The Reward Quests
Walkthroughs, locations, and full rewards live on the quest pages - this is just the list.
- ▸Act 1: And Not a Drop to Drink.
- ▸Act 2: Clearing the Way.
- ▸Act 3: Culling the Swarm.
- ▸Act 4: Precious Resources.
- ▸The fifth: re-clear any one of Clearing the Way, Culling the Swarm, or Precious Resources on Elite - Clearing the Way is the earliest reachable (each quest's details are linked from this page's related quests).
03 / DIFFICULTY-DLC
Difficulty and DLC Differences
- ▸The only difficulty-gated bag is the fifth - re-clearing any bag-reward quest on Elite hits the cap, and neither Ultimate nor any DLC adds more (Ultimate still displays bag rewards, but they cannot exceed the five-bag cap).
- ▸No AoM or FG quest rewards a bag (our own quest data lists only this family in the bag category).
- ▸Skipping difficulties with an FG Merit auto-grants the bags you would have earned on the skipped difficulties - no backtracking runs needed.
- ▸That is why alts going straight to Ultimate with a Savior's Merit still end up with full bags (see Difficulties and Merits).
