Season of Death Awakening Guide
A patch 3.1.1 guide to starting Season 14, progressing from Pandemonium Ruptures to the Corrupted Reaper, Mythic Uniques 3.0, Solo Self-Found, and the Tower.
Patch 3.1.1 reduced Upgrade to Mythic from five Pandemonium Fragments to four. This guide uses the current value.
How to Start
4Enter the Seasonal Realm
The starting quest is on the Seasonal Realm, so use a seasonal character rather than an Eternal Realm character.
Read the Scroll in Kyovashad
Travel to Kyovashad, read the ominous scroll, and begin A Gospel of Despair.
Progress the Seasonal Questline
Follow the Death Cult questline to reach the seasonal systems in Zarbinzet and unlock the route to the Corrupted Reaper.
Cycle Ruptures and the Reputation Board
Close Pandemonium Ruptures for Glints of Hope, then claim rewards from the Seasonal Reputation Board.
Core Seasonal Loop
61. Pandemonium Ruptures
Defeat the guardians, open the Rupture, and extend it by killing monsters and sealing Tears. Keeping it open longer increases rewards.
2. Glints of Hope and Reputation
Close Ruptures for Glints of Hope and advance the board. In patch 3.1.1, the repeatable reputation reward guarantees one Pandemonium Fragment.
3. Realmwalker
It cannot appear from Normal Ruptures, has a chance after a Mastery Surging Rupture, and is guaranteed after a Colossal Rupture.
4. Deathtoll Chamber
Enter after defeating a Realmwalker or through a Nightmare Dungeon with the Rupture affix. It is the primary source of Superior Lair Keys.
5. Corrupted Reaper
After the questline kill, the boss becomes repeatable at the Pandemonium Threshold in Zarbinzet. Superior Lair Keys open its Hoard.
6. Upgrade to Mythic
If you have unlocked the Horadric Cube through Lord of Hatred, collect Pandemonium Fragments to convert a Unique into a Mythic Unique. Patch 3.1.1 requires four Fragments.
Rupture Types
3Rupture type determines whether a Realmwalker can appear.
Normal
Appears across Sanctuary, especially in Helltides. It cannot summon a Realmwalker.
Surging
Appears at local event sites in Helltides and has a Realmwalker chance when completed with Mastery.
Colossal
Limited to the World Boss arena southeast of Zarbinzet and guarantees a Realmwalker on completion.
Mythic Uniques 3.0
3The material cost changed after the announcement; this guide uses the patch 3.1.1 value.
Eligibility
After unlocking the Cube through Lord of Hatred, the recipe appears at level 70 in Torment or higher. It consumes one item-level 850+ Unique from the same equipment slot.
Current Cost
With the Cube unlocked, Upgrade to Mythic costs four Pandemonium Fragments. The announcement's five-Fragment cost was reduced in 3.1.1.
Crafted Mythic Equip Limit Removed
Patch 3.1.1a removed the equip-count restriction on crafted Mythic items. The announcement's one-crafted-item rule is no longer live.
Solo Self-Found
3Review the restrictions before character creation because the mode cannot be changed during the season.
Restrictions
Parties and trading with other players are disabled. Dark Citadel, the free trial, and local co-op are unsupported.
Account Sharing
SSF characters on the same account share the stash, currencies, Paragon, and related progression.
Locked for the Season
The choice is locked until the season ends. The character then moves to the Eternal Realm and regains normal party and trading access.
Tower, Leaderboards, and Season Rank
2Competitive Tower progress and account-wide Season Rank are separate reward tracks.
Tower and Leaderboards
The released Tower offers seasonal rewards for progression and placement. Solo Self-Found has separate Normal and Hardcore leaderboards.
Season Rank
There are nine ranks and more than 120 account-wide objectives. About 15% of rewards require Lord of Hatred, so owners of the base game alone cannot claim every reward.
Patch 3.1.1 and Live Hotfixes
7- The Seasonal Reputation Board was added to Temis.
- At high Torment levels, Deathtoll Chambers guarantee at least one Superior Lair Key.
- The Corrupted Reaper drops up to two Pandemonium Fragments, scaling with Torment.
- The repeatable Glints of Hope reputation reward guarantees one Pandemonium Fragment.
- Upgrade to Mythic was reduced from five Pandemonium Fragments to four.
- Patch 3.1.1a increased Corrupted Reaper Mythic and Iconic Mythic drop rates and removed the crafted-Mythic equip limit.
- The July 21 server hotfix added Superior Lair Keys to the final repeatable Glints of Hope cache.
Common Misreads
4- The current 3.1.1 Mythic upgrade cost is four Fragments, not the five shown in the season announcement.
- Normal Ruptures cannot summon a Realmwalker; Colossal Ruptures are the guaranteed route.
- Do not retain the announcement-era one-crafted-Mythic limit; patch 3.1.1a removed it.
- Solo Self-Found cannot be disabled during the season.
