Patch 3.1.x Changes and Gameplay Impact
Treating 3.1.0 as the current systems baseline and 3.1.1 as the latest corrective patch, this guide identifies which farming, item, class, and existing-guide assumptions need review. It is an impact index linked to the official notes, not a reproduction of every change.
Patch Series Baseline
2Latest Fixes: Seasonal Rewards, Bugs, and Drops
Improves Season 14 reward paths and fixes class, War Plans, lair-boss, and Mythic-item issues.
Series Baseline: Major Item, Class, and Activity Updates
Broadly updates Unique affixes, Mythic conversion, all eight classes, War Plans, rewards, and currency caps.
Latest Changes That Affect Guides
5Season 14 Mythic Conversion Is Shorter
Upgrade to Mythic now costs four Pandemonium Fragments instead of five. High-Torment Deathtoll Chambers guarantee at least one Superior Lair Key, the Corrupted Reaper can drop up to two Fragments by Torment tier, and the repeatable Reputation reward guarantees one Fragment.
Retire five-Fragment farming tables and compare Deathtoll, Corrupted Reaper, and repeatable Reputation within one route.
Use the current four-Fragment value in the Season 14 guide, while separating the conversion recipe as a Lord of Hatred route that requires the Horadric Cube unlock.
Reputation, Tower, and Rupture Progression Fixes
Adds the Seasonal Reputation Board to Temis and fixes a Season Rank objective, party Tower rewards, the Corrupted Reaper lair, and Rupture spawning.
Do not preserve workarounds for fixed blockers; treat them as known issues only if they still reproduce.
Re-test old workaround articles before publication.
Mythic Drops Fixed for Lair Bosses and Other Sources
Fixes sources—including Lair Bosses—that could not drop Mythics and increases the chance that a naturally dropped Mythic is an Iconic Mythic.
Remove pre-fix claims that lair bosses cannot drop Mythics. Blizzard gives no exact rate, so do not publish an inferred drop percentage.
Update boss and farming eligibility while marking the rate as undisclosed.
Re-check Class Behavior That Depended on Bugs
Fixes Paladin Holy-damage display, Spiritborn Stinger overperformance, Warlock Soul Shard clarity and set behavior, plus targeted Barbarian, Druid, and Rogue bugs.
DPS comparisons or instructions built around pre-fix behavior require retesting. A bug fix alone does not justify changing a whole-class ranking.
Flag only builds using the affected skill or set as refresh candidates.
War Plans Boss and Whisper Reward Fixes
Fixes mutators that could prevent boss or Whisper Ambush loot and a case where the Corrupted Reaper failed to gain power.
Do not document missing loot as intended behavior; log it only if it reproduces after 3.1.1.
Base War Plans known-issue notes on 3.1.1.
Current Baseline Changes
4Unique Item Evaluation and Crafting Changed
All Uniques now guarantee two affixes on drop. Unique, Mythic Unique, and Iconic Mythic items can have affixes altered through Enchanting, and Upgrade to Mythic preserves the gear slot. Mythic Uniques themselves cannot be used in that recipe.
Pre-3.1 fixed-affix tables and same-recipe slot uncertainty are obsolete. Item guides must separate guaranteed affixes from editable ones.
Rebuild item and crafting guides from live 3.1.0+ items and official tables.
Revalidate Build Numbers for All Eight Classes
Large skill, Aspect, Unique, Paragon, and Talisman adjustments affect all eight classes. Buffs and nerfs are mixed and cannot be reduced to one class ranking.
Pre-3.1 skill values, item choices, Paragon instructions, and strongest-build claims are not valid evidence for current builds.
Before publishing a build, check that class's 3.1.0 section plus 3.1.1 fixes.
Farming Rewards, War Plans, and Currency Caps Updated
Updates Rupture rewards and low-difficulty tuning, shared War Plans, Helltide chests, and Infernal Hordes gold. Caps rise to 25,000 Obols, 999,999,999,999 Gold, and 999,999,999 Gem Fragments.
Revisit spending routines built around old caps and farming priorities based solely on old rewards.
State the tested difficulty and 3.1.0+ patch scope in farming guides.
Use the Current Tier-3 Boss Key Name
Betrayer's Husks were renamed Superior Lair Keys because Belial is no longer the only boss in that tier.
Use Superior Lair Key as the canonical live label and retain Betrayer's Husk only for legacy search and historical context.
Replace the display name during migration while preserving the search alias.
