Skyrim NPC Mods: Bijin, Pandorable and Kalilies Compared
Choose an NPC overhaul by the characters it replaces and the skin assets it uses.Bijin, Pandorable's NPCs and Kalilies NPCs can complement one another, but that does not make a larger mod list conflict-free. Compare coverage first, then check installation and conflicts.
This guide covers PC Skyrim Special Edition / Anniversary Edition. Author documentation was checked on September 6, 2026; we have not performed an in-game comparison. The previous blanket claims about conflict-free installation and mandatory SKSE have been removed.
Comparing the three families

Checks before installation
Once you have chosen an overhaul, use our installation and dark-face troubleshooting guide. Before that, record the following:
- One target NPC.Find the character in the author's list and check whether another installed mod edits them. Select by coverage rather than download counts.
- Your actual runtime.Record Steam or GOG, the SkyrimSE.exe file version and the downloaded filenames. An AE label does not prove that every optional DLL or compatibility patch supports your setup.
- Required versus recommended files.Pandorable's base package says no additional mods or DLCs are required; Kalilies describes its package as standalone. Credits are not an instruction to install every listed development asset. Check optional patches separately.
- Requirements of separate tools.If you also want RaceMenu or another SKSE-dependent mod, check its requirements and the official SKSE runtime list. Do not choose a download only because it is the newest.
How to compare the appearance
Author screenshots may include lighting, skin, ENB and outfit changes. Installing an NPC replacer alone does not reproduce that whole scene. For your own comparison, keep the character, location and lighting the same.
If the face shape looks right but the skin does not, check whether the overhaul supplies its own textures or uses your installed skin before adding another replacer. Changing the body, skin and face together makes the cause harder to isolate.

Dark faces: check conflicts before adding more mods
The author of Face Discoloration Fix explains a mismatch between FaceGen assets and plugin head-part data. Correcting the colour does not necessarily restore a custom face lost through conflicts.
