Farming Ugdenbloom: The Gloomwald Loop
Ugdenbloom is a crafting material added with Ashes of Malmouth (AoM), dropped by rotting stumps in the Ugdenbog region and by plant/tree heroes plus Ugdenbog golem-type elites. The base route starts at the Gloomwald Crossing rift, follows the western outer edge toward the Den of Carraxus, picking up only stumps and heroes for one lap. No full-clearing needed - end the lap by returning to the main menu and remaking the session to reset spawns. Crafting keeps consuming this material, so never sell it: centralize every pickup in the shared stash.

CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE
- ▸Short on Ugdenbloom? One lap from the Gloomwald Crossing rift along the western outer edge, picking up only rotting stumps and plant/tree heroes.
- ▸Keep laps short: ignore trash, turn around near the Den of Carraxus, then main menu and a new session to reset.
- ▸Got spare time? Extend through Ugdenbog and turn around at the Ancient Grove entrance (going inside takes a Skeleton Key and a strong character).
- ▸Handling the haul: crafting keeps consuming it, so never sell - centralize it in the shared stash for every character.
01 / WHAT-AND-WHERE
What Ugdenbloom is and where it comes from
A consumable that AoM-era crafting keeps draining - and its sources are fixed to stumps and specific enemies.
- ▸Ugdenbloom is a crafting material added with AoM, repeatedly consumed by AoM-era recipes - you want a real stockpile.
- ▸Three source families: rotting stumps (gatherable objects) in the Ugdenbog region, plant/tree hero monsters, and Ugdenbog golem-type elites.
- ▸The region is AoM's Gloomwald-to-Ugdenbog belt - progress the AoM campaign and unlock the rifts before farming.
- ▸Because gatherable objects carry the route, the loop works even on characters with modest damage.
- ▸Like every crafting material, selling it is forbidden (see Crafting Material Routes).
02 / BASE-ROUTE
The base route: Gloomwald's western edge
- ▸Prerequisites: AoM installed and the Gloomwald Crossing rift unlocked.
- ▸Start at the Gloomwald Crossing rift and follow the western outer edge toward the Den of Carraxus.
- ▸Check rotting stumps along the way and kill plant/tree heroes when they appear; do not stop to full-clear ordinary enemies.
- ▸For a short loop, stop around the Den, then return to the main menu and start a new session to reset spawns.
- ▸Per-lap yield is random with no guaranteed count - loop steadily until you hit your target stock.
03 / EXTENDED-ROUTE
Extensions and alternatives
- ▸With spare time, skip the turnaround and extend through Ugdenbog, adding more stumps and heroes.
- ▸The extension's landmark endpoint is the Ancient Grove entrance - inside is a Skeleton-Key rogue-like dungeon, so turn around at the door when materials are the only goal.
- ▸Confident in your damage? Working Ugdenbog golem-type elites into the path adds drop chances.
- ▸If a Monster Totem (with FG) has spawned on the route, clear it in passing for extra reward rolls.
- ▸Still progressing through AoM? Just building the habit of checking stumps en route stocks you up without a dedicated loop.
04 / MANAGE
Managing the stock
- ▸Check current stock versus need in the shared stash before heading out.
- ▸Centralize pickups in the shared stash - crafting can draw from it, so every character shares the pool.
- ▸It is a material that runs short when farmed only on demand - grabbing it every time you pass through AoM zones is faster in the end.
- ▸The loop is gathering-first, so leave money and XP to other farming routes (see Mid Game Money).
Per-lap yield varies by build, difficulty, and random generation, so none is guaranteed. This page splits and expands the Ugdenbloom section of the Crafting Material Routes pilot article.
