Apocalypse Fire Werewolf Zealot (SSF Beginner Build)
An Oathkeeper + Berserker that attacks with Werewolf Feral Claws while up to six fire Guardians stack burn damage. The v1.3.0.7 primary source documents a roughly 30-hour fresh-save run with level 1-100 calculators, budget and final setups, and a farming order. The current v1.3.0.8 notes were also checked and contain no build-breaking change.
Werewolf / Feral Claws / Rip and Tear
The source demonstrates the final Gryphon version killing Ravager of Flesh in under a minute, facetanking Lokarr, and mostly facetanking both Mogdrogen phases with some kiting. The budget version handles Tempest Totems with repositioning and works in unmodified Ascendant. The author explicitly excludes heavily juiced Ascendant altars; the Hardcore recommendation is to leave the altar untouched.

Gear
- ▸Use Feral Claws from level 2 and raise it alongside Werewolf. Start as pierce/bleeding, then after finishing Fiend from the Act 1 shrines switch to chaos with the Blight of Chthon mutator and two Riftstones.
- ▸Prioritize resistance, health, attributes, movement speed, and attack speed over damage affixes. The level-20 baseline uses two Antivenom Salves, two Riftstones, two Scaled Hides, Silk Swatch, Corpse Dust/Frozen Heart, two Wardstones, and Ruination.
- ▸At level 35 use Devil's Crossing and Rovers faction armour; around level 40 look for Bloodsworn Scepters; after level 50 enter FoA, then target Gruldir's Blazing Cleavers and Gryphon Eye around level 70.
- ▸The source finished at 70 Physique / 30 Spirit. Check your actual equipment requirements before committing points.
- ▸Final 14-slot calculator: two Gruldir's Blazing Cleavers; Apoclypton's Gaze, Stone, Portents, and Halo; Aleksander's Legguards; Stoneplate Greaves; Plagueguard Grips; Hellfury Band; Combustion Band; Crimson Lotus; Gryphon Eye; and Iskandra's Balance.
- ▸The hidden Gryphon Eye modifier turns Guardians of Empyrion into fire wolves. The final version emphasizes direct and burn damage; the cheaper Apoclypton + Blazeseer version loses that visual but gains one Guardian.
- ▸Farm Apoclypton from Tempest Totems and awakening materials from ordinary Ascendant totems. Assemble Blazeseer from ordinary Ultimate totems, then awaken it.
- ▸Do not require exact MI affixes. Patch resistance, DA, and health gaps, and use an Evade medal augment. The source's aggressive rolls are not a guarantee of Hardcore safety.
Playstyle & Notes
- ▸Stay in Werewolf form, engage with Leap or Evade, apply Bonechilling Cry, and hold Feral Claws.
- ▸Use Rip and Tear into packs. Stack the Guardian wolves on targets and maintain resistance reduction from Celestial Presence and devotion procs.
- ▸Cycle Rallying Cry as healing and a buff; reserve Ascension for telegraphed bursts or dangerous altar waves.
- ▸Stopping attacks also stops leech. Disengage with Leap and Evade when ground damage, sunder, or dangerous altar modifiers overlap.
- ▸The main controls are one attack, two movement skills, and recovery/buffs, making it controller-friendly. Do not over-juice Ascendant altars.
Prioritize capped primary resistances with overcaps, armour absorption, and crowd-control resistance. The source deliberately runs aggressive, relatively low DA and compensates with automatic healing, life steal, active cooldowns, and circuit breakers, but Ascendant crits remain possible. Beginners and Hardcore players should use defensive jewellery augments and trouser affixes, prioritizing DA and health over damage.
This is repetitive melee and some heavily modified Ascendant altar combinations are poor matchups. The final calculator runs aggressive DA, so beginners and Hardcore players should trade damage for defense to reduce crit risk. Fire weapons arrive late, forcing an early pierce/bleeding phase followed by chaos. The final sets are targetable, but Tempest Totems for Apoclypton and good MI affixes take time. This article does not infer stable deep-SR or other named Celestial results beyond the demonstrated Ravager, Lokarr, and Mogdrogen fights.
The source order: (1) ordinary Ultimate totems for Blazeseer, (2) craft Plagueguard Grips and Stoneplate Greaves, (3) farm Gruldir's Blazing Cleavers and Gryphon Eye on Normal, (4) craft Iskandra's Balance, (5) ordinary Ascendant totems for awakening materials, (6) Tempest Totems for Apoclypton, and (7) Aleksander's Legguards after reaching Vanguard Nemesis. Gruldir weapons come from late FoA enemies; Gryphon Eye is farmed around Sunbane Oasis. Secure base MIs first and optimize affixes later.
