Ice King Werewolf & Hellhound Mystic
An Occultist + Berserker hybrid that dual-wields in Werewolf form while commanding up to four cold-converted Hellhounds through the Ice King's Adornments set. This revision replaces the prerelease theorycraft with the author's current GrimTools, finished gear, leveling diary, and measured performance. Splitting investment between player and pets costs some specialization, but SR30/31 farming, Crucible, and major superboss clears are now demonstrated.
Werewolf
All five rogue-like dungeons are cleared in Ascendant Mode. The Ice King setup averages 6:24 in SR30/31 over 100 samples after excluding extreme death/pathing-error outliers (4:47 minimum, 7:39 maximum). Crucible 180-200 x2 is shown, plus a separate 170-200 run. The Dread, Avatar of Mogdrogen the White Wolf, Avatar of Mogdrogen, Callagadra, and Ravager are checked for both Ice King and Ice Queen. Crate of Entertainment remains unverified because its source performance entry is blank.

Skills & Priorities
12The core transformation line, combining the main attack, attack-based sustain, and enemy DA reduction. While leveling, max Werewolf then Voracity; the final allocation targets gear-supported breakpoints.
Werewolf-only sweep and charge attacks. Bind Rumor to Feral Claws and Howl of Mogdrogen to Rip and Tear.
The pet package converted primarily to cold and expanded to four hounds by Ice King's Adornments. Delay it during leveling, then respec when the set is complete. Bind Elemental Storm to Summon Hellhound.
Taken mainly for Vulnerability's elemental resistance reduction. Blanket packs with it and bind Whirlpool to Curse of Frailty.
Area debuff that adds another layer of cold resistance reduction. Bind Shepherd's Call to it to start both player and pet offense together.
Exclusive skill supplying physical-to-cold conversion, cold bonuses, and OA. Bind Ghoulish Hunger here for emergency sustain.
Permanent buff line covering DA, armor, attack speed, and resistances. Max the base skill and keep both modifiers as one-pointers in the final setup.
Supports player-side damage and dangerous engagements. Unlike the old one-point theorycraft, the tested setup invests to gear-supported breakpoints.
Low-cost healing, movement, and utility. Rallying Cry can receive extra early points while leveling before the final respec.
Emergency heal plus poison/acid and physical resistance. Keep Blood of Dreeg at one point and bring Aspect to its soft cap.
Patches the build's scarce attack speed. The current setup puts remaining points in the base skill and keeps Second Rite at one.
Adds pet healing/support and baseline pet bonuses for minimal investment.

Gear
- ▸For a fresh start, level as a chaos Werewolf on Normal/Veteran. Max Werewolf then Voracity; take one point each in Amatok's Pact, Battle Surge, Rallying Cry, Untamed Rage, then Impulse, Leap, and Recklessness.
- ▸Around level 20, use Riftstone or Hollowed Fang on the weapon, Consecrated Wrappings on gloves, Antivenom Salve on head/belt, Silk Swatch on pants/shoulders, Corpse Dust/Frozen Heart on rings, and Wardstone/Aether Soul/Black Tallow on amulet/medal as resistances require.
- ▸Both dual-wield and two-handed leveling work. If drops are poor, farm Voidcarver Blade in FoA; Bloodsworn Scepter and Gruldir's Tainted Cleaver are useful dual-wield alternatives.
- ▸The author's diary covers level 20 Ultimate start, returning to Elite at 38, then Krieg at 51, Cronley at 56, Homestead at 60, Amalgamation at 65, Loghorrean at 71, AoM completion at 85, and Ultimate Homestead at 94. Beginners should use Normal; experienced players can choose Veteran.
- ▸Prioritize the player-side Werewolf until Ice King's Adornments is complete, then respec into the Hellhound half.
- ▸Core five equipment slots: Crown of the Ice King, Armor of the Ice King, two Blade of the Ice King weapons, and Heart of the Ice King (the four named items in Ice King's Adornments), enabling four hounds, cold conversion, and Feral Claws bonuses.
- ▸Shoulders: Mythical Fiendflesh Mantle (alts: Mythical Mantle of Blasphemous Rituals, well-rolled Kra'vall Shoulderguards).
- ▸Gloves: a crafted double rare comparable to Rimefrost Plagueguard Grips of Kings, prioritizing attack speed and CC resistance (alts: Mythical Bonescavenger's Deathgrips, Mythical Overlord's Iron Grip).
- ▸Belt: Mythical Shadowfiend's Cord (alts: Mythical Rimespark Cord, well-rolled Calcified Sash).
- ▸Pants: Mythical Runebrand Legwraps (alts: Mythical Eldritch Schemer's Legwraps, well-rolled Bysmiel-Sect Legguards).
- ▸Boots: Mythical Jackal's Step (alts: Galewind Treads, well-rolled Intrepid Warboots).
- ▸Rings: two Bysmiel Chilling Seals; swap one for Mythical Band of the Eternal Haunt if its resistance-reduction effect is needed. Deathguard Sigil and strong MIs are other options.
- ▸Medal: The Overseer (alts: Mythical Mark of Unlife, well-rolled Halion's Crest).
- ▸Relic: Amatok's Grip. Hardcore options are Aurora/Serenity; Mogdrogen's Ardor leans petward, and Bysmiel's Domination is the budget craft.
Playstyle & Notes
- ▸Transform, then open with Bonechilling Cry for Shepherd's Call and Curse of Frailty for Whirlpool, stacking resistance reduction.
- ▸Sweep packs with Feral Claws to spread Rumor; use Rip and Tear to engage or disengage while triggering Howl of Mogdrogen.
- ▸Maintain four Hellhounds. Summon Hellhound triggers Elemental Storm; after detonating hounds with Blazing Death, use the set's cooldown reduction to resummon.
- ▸Cycle Rallying Cry and Blood of Dreeg for healing/buffs. Leech back during Ghoulish Hunger; if still unsafe, disengage with Rip and Tear or Leap.
- ▸Because it is a hybrid, do not neglect either half: keep the order of debuffs, summon maintenance, then melee pressure.
Before entering low SR at level 94, target roughly 2400 OA and DA, 80% capped resistances, about +20% overcap on key resistances, and +50% crowd-control resistance covering stun, freeze, and slow. Gear must also patch the hounds' elemental, aether, chaos, and pierce resistances.
As a hybrid splitting bonuses between player and pets, neither half reaches the peak of a dedicated Werewolf or pure-pet build. Ice King's Adornments is effectively mandatory and the best gloves are a crafted double rare. Four hounds carry a balancing total-damage penalty. You must manage debuffs, heals, and resummons while in melee, and a Crate of Entertainment clear is not verified.
At level 94, the diary reports roughly seven Mythicals from two SR20/21 runs of three shards plus boss room. After upgrades, aim for comfortable SR26/27 as the stated difficulty-to-drop sweet spot. The Ice King's Adornments blueprint happened to drop on the author's second SR20/21 run, but that is an anecdotal drop, not a guarantee. Voidcarver Blade is farmable in FoA, while Bloodsworn Scepter comes from cultists.
