DIABLO IV / SEASON 14 / MYTHIC CRAFTING

Mythic Uniques 3.0 and Horadric Cube Crafting Guide

A live Season 14 guide to Mythic as an item quality, direct and crafted acquisition, the four-Fragment Cube recipe, everything lost during same-slot conversion, and post-craft adjustment under patches 3.1.1 and 3.1.1a.

BEFORE YOU CRAFT

Upgrade to Mythic does not preserve and strengthen the original Unique. After unlocking the Cube through Lord of Hatred, a level-70 character in Torment can spend one item-power-850-or-higher Unique and four Pandemonium Fragments to reroll it into a random class-usable Mythic Unique for the same gear slot. The original name, affixes, and Greater Affixes are not preserved, so use spare fodder rather than a valuable item.

MYTHIC 3.0

Four Rules of Mythic Uniques 3.0

4

Mythic Is an Item Quality

In Season 14, Mythic is an item quality that any Unique can have. The pool is no longer limited to the former small set of Mythics; ordinary Uniques can drop or be crafted as Mythic versions.

Season of Death AwakeningUnique ItemMythic Unique

Always Ancestral

Mythic Uniques are always Ancestral. Even when the eligible Cube input is not Ancestral, the resulting Mythic is Ancestral quality.

Mythic UniqueUnique Item

Unique Power Is Increased by 30%

Mythic quality increases the item's Unique Power by 30%, while its other affix values roll at their maximum. The live item model gives all Uniques two guaranteed affixes on drop.

Craft Count and Equip Count Are Separate

You can craft repeatedly when materials allow. Patch 3.1.1a also removed the one-crafted-Mythic equipment restriction, so multiple crafted Mythics can now be equipped.

Rare Roll From Ancestral Unique Sources

On both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, any source that can drop an Ancestral Unique has a very rare chance to produce a Mythic. This route is available with the base game, but Blizzard publishes no exact rate.

Direct Corrupted Reaper Drops

In Season 14, the Corrupted Reaper offers the best direct chance for Mythics and Pandemonium Fragments. Patch 3.1.1a raised Mythic and Iconic Mythic rates, but did not make either guaranteed.

Season Rank Mythic Caches

Season Rank progression awards class-specific Mythic Unique Caches. Check unclaimed rank rewards before spending Cube materials because this route consumes no Fragments.

Craft Through the Cube or Jeweler

Lord of Hatred owners can spend Pandemonium Fragments in the Cube. Players with Rune access can alternatively use one eligible 850+ Unique, 18 specified Runes, and three Resplendent Sparks at the Jeweler. Both produce a random result for the selected slot rather than guaranteeing a named Mythic.

Five Steps to Craft a Mythic in the Cube

5
STEP 01

1. Unlock the Horadric Cube

Discover and unlock the Horadric Cube during the Lord of Hatred campaign. It then becomes available as a crafting station in Temis; the Cube recipe is unavailable with the base game alone.

STEP 02

2. Reach Level 70 and Torment

Reach character level 70 and enter Torment. Upgrade to Mythic does not appear until both eligibility conditions are met.

STEP 03

3. Choose a Spare 850+ Unique

Provide one item-power-850-or-higher Unique for the slot you want. Mythic Uniques and Legacy items are ineligible inputs, and the input does not need to share the desired output's name.

STEP 04

4. Add Four Pandemonium Fragments

Place the spare Unique and four Pandemonium Fragments into Upgrade to Mythic. The live 3.1.1 cost is four, replacing the five shown in the season announcement.

STEP 05

5. Inspect the Random Same-Slot Mythic

The result is a random class-usable Mythic for the same gear slot. One-handed weapons, offhands, and shields share a slot category, so a one-handed input can return a Focus or Shield when the class can use it.

Four Decisions That Protect Your Materials

4

Never Feed a Finished Item

The input is consumed and does not pass its name, guaranteed affixes, random affixes, Greater Affixes, or upgrade state to the output. Protect equipped, well-rolled, and GA-bearing items.

Unique ItemMythic UniqueHoradric Cube

Matching the Name Gives No Advantage

Feeding a Unique with the desired name does not increase the chance of receiving its Mythic version. Use the least valuable eligible 850+ Unique in the correct slot.

Output Greater Affixes Are Not Guaranteed

The crafted result can roll random Greater Affixes, but input GAs do not transfer and output GAs are not guaranteed. Do not infer a permanent rate from a small set of crafts.

Mythic UniqueUnique Item

Check the Crafting Class and Shared Weapon Pool

The output pool is restricted to items usable by the crafting character. Craft on the intended class, and account for the wider shared pool covering one-handed weapons, offhands, and shields.

Enchant One Undesirable Affix

Unique, Mythic Unique, and Iconic Mythic items can have one undesirable affix altered through Enchanting. Review the guaranteed affixes and editable candidate before salvaging the result.

Added Affixes Roll at Maximum

Affixes added to a Mythic through Enchanting, Transfiguration, or Tempering roll at their maximum. The bug that allowed Transfiguration to replace existing Mythic affixes has been fixed.

No Chaotic or Focused Reroll

The 3.1.0 live update removed Chaotic and Focused Reroll for Unique and Mythic Unique items. Do not follow PTR or older Cube tables that still list those routes.

A Mythic Cannot Be Re-upgraded to Mythic

A Mythic Unique cannot be used as the input for Upgrade to Mythic. An unwanted result cannot be fed back into the same recipe, so decide whether to keep, adjust, or salvage it.

Base Game: Drops and Rank Caches

With the base game alone, prioritize Ancestral Unique sources, the Corrupted Reaper, and Season Rank caches. You can earn Fragments, but Cube conversion requires Lord of Hatred.

Four Fragments: Roll the Needed Slot

With the Cube unlocked, four Fragments, and spare 850+ fodder, select the slot with the largest upgrade potential. Because the recipe rolls a slot rather than a named item, plan for results worse than current gear.

Farm Drops and Fragments Together: Reaper

When Superior Keys are available, the Corrupted Reaper combines a direct Mythic chance with up to two Fragments. With no published drop rate, do not assume a fixed number of runs.

Iconic Mythics: Do Not Assume a Guarantee

Patches 3.1.1 and 3.1.1a raised Iconic Mythic chances from natural drops and the Reaper, but neither Cube crafting nor farming guarantees a named result. Do not promise a run count for a build-defining item.

CAUTION

Costly Misreads

6
  • Do not read Upgrade as an in-place enhancement; the input Unique is consumed and rerolled into a random same-slot Mythic.
  • Do not feed a namesake, GA-bearing, well-rolled, or equipped Unique; matching the desired name does not improve the outcome chance.
  • Do not assume a one-handed input can only return a one-handed weapon; one-handers, offhands, and shields share a category.
  • Do not use the announcement's five-Fragment cost; patch 3.1.1 reduced it to four.
  • Do not retain the old one-crafted-Mythic equipment limit; patch 3.1.1a removed it.
  • Do not tell players to add Mythic quality to Unique Charms or Seals; patch 3.1.1a removed that unintended behavior.
LIVE UPDATE

Live 3.1.1 and 3.1.1a Corrections

5
  • The 3.1.0 live update made Mythic conversion preserve the gear slot, barred Mythics as inputs, enabled Enchanting for Unique tiers, and made added Mythic affix values roll at maximum.
  • Patch 3.1.1 reduced the Cube cost from five Pandemonium Fragments to four.
  • Patch 3.1.1 fixed Unique sources that could not drop Mythics and raised the chance for a natural Mythic to be an Iconic Mythic.
  • Patch 3.1.1a removed the one-crafted-Mythic equipment restriction and raised Reaper Mythic and Iconic Mythic rates; no exact percentages were published.
  • Patch 3.1.1a removed the unintended ability to add Mythic quality to Unique Charms and Seals.
