Grim Dawn DLC Guide: What Each Adds and What to Buy
The two pillar expansions are Ashes of Malmouth (AoM) and Forgotten Gods (FG). AoM adds Acts 5-6, the level 100 cap, the 55-point devotion cap, Necromancer and Inquisitor, and Mythical-tier gear - making it the de facto prerequisite of the current endgame. FG (which requires AoM) adds Oathkeeper, Act 7, the Shattered Realm (SR), Merits, and Monster Totems. The Crucible is an optional standalone wave-arena DLC. Fangs of Asterkarn (FoA) is the largest expansion yet, releasing 2026-07-23 (Berserker and more) and requiring the base game plus AoM plus FG. If you buy just one, buy AoM first.

Grim Tools: What It's For and How to Read It Safely
Grim Tools (GT) is the comprehensive fan-run Grim Dawn data site maintained by Dammitt, with data derived from the game's own databases and Japanese display provided via Matougi's translations. Its pillars are the Build Calculator, Item Database, Monster Database, and World Map - and calculator links are the de facto standard for sharing builds. The one safety rule when reading: always check the displayed version, since old shared links can encode builds from earlier patches.
