Lightning Stun Jacks Elementalist
A Lightning-focused caster built around the Demolitionist's Stun Jacks, backed up by Wind Devil and Storm Totem. Fire it up close and every jack converges on one target for big damage; fire it at range and the jacks fan out to hit a spread of enemies. Most of the gear comes from vendors, crafting, or farming within a stone's throw of a portal, making it very easy to put together — but squeezing out maximum damage means fighting up close and taking hits, and the build is short on mobility (its only movement skill comes from a medal augment) and direct life leech.
Stun Jacks
The author personally cleared Shattered Realm 32-33 and defeated Lokarr on video. The guide itself was originally published in July 2024 and has been revised repeatedly since for v1.2.1.6 (most recently edited May 2026); the SR32-33/Lokarr video was added during one of those later revisions, not at initial publication. The forum thread's own title lists SR26 and a Lokarr kill as the baseline target.

Skills & Priorities
10A Demolitionist throwing skill that fans out a spread of blades before they drop to the ground. Fire it close-range and every blade converges on one target; fire it at distance and the spread hits multiple enemies. Bind the Tempest devotion's Reckless Tempest proc here (100% chance on crit, dealing Lightning damage plus an Electrocute DoT, with a 20% chance to stun).
A modifier for Stun Jacks that removes its cooldown, enabling rapid-fire casting. Before unlocking it, the skill is cooldown-limited early on, so managing energy (Ectoplasm components, etc.) matters.
The other modifier for Stun Jacks. Increases the number of blades thrown, boosting overall area damage.
A Shaman tornado-summon skill that's both a secondary Lightning damage source and one of the build's devotion "trigger" skills. Also max its Raging Tempest modifier, which adds an elemental-resistance-reduction debuff aura to the vortex's hits. Bind the Widow devotion's Arcane Bomb proc here (25% chance on attack, cutting the target's Lightning resistance by up to -35%).
A Shaman totem skill that keeps zapping nearby enemies, doubling as one of the build's devotion "trigger" skills. Bind the Ultos, Shepherd of Storms devotion's Hand of Ultos proc here (100% chance on crit, chain lightning to nearby enemies plus an elemental resistance reduction debuff). Since each totem you place can trigger this proc independently and the Electrocute DoTs stack on the same target, this is a particularly good pairing.
A Demolitionist placed-bomb skill. Invested in as an additional source of resistance reduction.
An always-on Demolitionist passive that boosts offense.
A Shaman toggle buff. Invest more here if energy sustain feels short.
Shaman's exclusive buff. Along with Maelstrom (unlocked via the mastery bar), it rounds out the build's damage in the final stretch of leveling.
An always-on Shaman passive. Pour remaining points here alongside the Demolitionist's Flame Touched and Oak Skin (invest more in the latter if resistances come up short) to round out stats and resistances.
Devotion Route (In Order)
15- 1.1 point in Crossroads (Ascendant).
- 2.Complete Owl (4pt / requires Ascendant 1, already met by the running total; grants Ascendant +5).
- 3.1 point in Crossroads (Primordial).
- 4.Complete Eel (3pt / requires Primordial 1, already met by the running total; grants Primordial +5).
- 5.Complete Lizard (3pt / requires Primordial 1, already met by the running total; grants Primordial +4).
- 6.1 point in Crossroads (Eldritch).
- 7.Complete Raven (4pt / requires Eldritch 1, already met by the running total; grants Eldritch +5).
- 8.Complete Fox (4pt / requires Eldritch 1, already met by the running total; grants Eldritch +5).
- 9.1 point in Crossroads (Chaos).
- 10.Complete Jackal (3pt / requires Chaos 1, already met by the running total; grants Chaos +3).
- 11.Complete Rat (4pt / requires Chaos 1, already met by the running total; grants Chaos +2, Eldritch +3).
- 12.[Core] Complete Tempest (7pt / requires Ascendant 5, Primordial 5, already met by the running total; grants Eldritch +1, Primordial +1). Bind its Reckless Tempest proc to Stun Jacks.
- 13.[Core] Complete Widow (6pt / requires Eldritch 6, Primordial 4, already met by the running total; grants Primordial +3). Bind its Arcane Bomb proc to Wind Devil.
- 14.[Core] Complete Ultos, Shepherd of Storms (6pt / requires Chaos 6, Eldritch 10, Primordial 10, already met by the running total; grants nothing). Bind its Hand of Ultos proc to Storm Totem. This lands at 48/55 points including the 4 Crossroads points. The original forum guide never spelled out its devotion order in the text itself (only via dynamic GrimTools links), just noting that Wind Devil and Storm Totem serve as the constellations' "trigger" skills — so this route is built from scratch around three Lightning-focused anchors (Tempest for a Lightning-damage proc, Widow for Lightning resistance reduction, and Ultos for a chain-lightning proc), bridged with efficient supporting picks.
- 15.Complete Hyrian, Guardian of the Celestial Gates (6pt / requires Ascendant 6, Eldritch 8, exactly and comfortably met by the running total; grants Ascendant +2, Primordial +2). This lands at 54/55 points. Bind its Hyrian's Glare proc to Mogdrogen's Pact (30% chance on being hit, a retaliatory Elemental damage + confuse wave). The remaining 1 point is optional.
Gear
- ▸Start as Demolitionist. Stun Jacks is available from level 1 and works fine as a leveling skill on its own — though leveling with Blackwater Cocktail, or starting Shaman with Primal Strike, works too if you'd rather.
- ▸In Act 1, chase Groble Sky Effigy from Narbalgal the Stormseeker (a lightning-wielding boss on an island north of Ulgrim, 50% drop) or Overseer Eye from heroic Overseers in the Warden's Lab. You can also craft a Lightning implement (a level-scaling lightning-infused weapon) at the blacksmith. In Act 2, chase Martin's Crest and Ulraprax's Sting.
- ▸Level Stun Jacks 5 → 8 → 10 while investing in Quick Jacks (3), Full Spread (10), and Vindictive Flame (10). Put points into the mastery bar at each Demolitionist unlock (levels 1, 5, 15). Stun Jacks has a cooldown early on, so lean on caster gear with energy regen and Ectoplasm components to avoid running dry.
- ▸Move into Shaman: 1 point each in Mogdrogen's Pact and Wind Devil, then 1 in Heart of the Wild. Put the rest into maxing Raging Tempest.
- ▸In Acts 3-4, chase Dreeg-Sect Legguards (or Solael-Sect Legguards depending on your resistances), Harvest Footpads/Grips from the Rovers faction, and a single Gollus' Ring. Take Shaman from 25 to 32, maxing Raging Tempest then Storm Totem.
- ▸After the campaign, sweep the DLC areas for gear and faction reputation. Chase Ugdenbog Stormstrife from Janaxia in Ugdenbog (ideally with a Lightning/Elemental prefix and the "of Thunder" suffix) and a full set of Legion armor from Black Legion. Max Stun Jacks, put 1 point each into Ulzuin's Wrath and Temper, 1 into Blast Shield (5 on Hardcore), and the rest into Thermite Mine.
- ▸On Elite, sweep up extra shrines while upgrading gear: Fettan Mask, Elite Harvest Grips from the Rovers, Coven Warder Spaulders from the Coven of Ugdenbog, Wendigo Guardian Cuirass from Barrowholm, and a crafted Malmouth Arcane Waistguard (blueprint from Malmouth Resistance). Max Thermite Mine and Ulzuin's Chosen.
- ▸Around level 90, upgrade Overseer Eye and Ulraprax's Sting again, and pick up 2x Gollus' Ring (or pair one with a Living Ring). For boots, craft Stoneplate Greaves or Intrepid Warboots; for gloves, craft Emberguard Grips aiming for a casting speed affix.
- ▸Buy Coven Mark of the Arcane from the Coven of Ugdenbog for your medal, and craft a Malmouth Arcane Girdle for your belt (blueprint from Malmouth Resistance).
- ▸Helm and chest ideally come from the Stormserpent set, but rather than relying on drops, you can target them with transmutation (unlocked via a Conclave of the Three quest reward) using spare level 94 blue/purple set pieces. The same method works for the Eastern set pants.
- ▸Add damage augments like Bysmiel's Ateph's Promise or Coven's Skyshard Powder to rings/amulet, and weapon augments like Dreeg's Foresight. Aim for resistances roughly 30% over cap using armor augments.
Playstyle & Notes
- ▸Drop Wind Devil and Storm Totem, then unload Stun Jacks at point-blank range to converge every blade on one target. Kiting at range turns it into a spread AoE instead.
- ▸Squeezing out max damage means fighting up close and eating hits. If you'd rather play it safe, a more distant caster playstyle works too.
- ▸Mobility is limited to a single medal-granted movement skill, and direct life leech is thin — damage mitigation leans on resistances and armor absorption instead.
- ▸Most of the gear comes from vendors, crafting, or items you naturally pick up during the campaign, making this an easy build to put together.
Prioritize resistances over damage when itemizing. Push all resistances (except physical) roughly 30% over cap with armor augments, and shore up armor absorption with 2x crafted Scaled Hide components.
Mobility is limited (the only movement skill comes from a medal augment) and direct life leech is thin, so the up-close playstyle that maximizes damage also raises the risk of a bad death. Squeezing out top damage means stepping into dangerous range — the risk/reward tradeoff here is explicit.
Farm Narbalgal the Stormseeker on the island north of Ulgrim for Groble Sky Effigy, Overseers in the Warden's Lab for Overseer Eye, Janaxia/Larria in Ugdenbog for Ugdenbog Stormstrife, and the Guardian of Dreeg near Devil's Crossing for Dreeg-Sect Legguards. After completing the Conclave of the Three quest, transmutation lets you target-craft Stormserpent/Eastern set pieces instead of relying on drops.
