Fire BWC & Ravenous Earth Defiler
A multi-source Fire Defiler built around the Demolitionist's classic "bomberman" combo of Blackwater Cocktail and Grenado, with the Necromancer's Ravenous Earth adding extra damage and Siphon Souls handling resistance reduction. Blazeheart and Mark of Burning Shadows convert most of its Necromancer skills to Fire. Played through Veteran and Ultimate difficulty using only easily obtainable gear, making it a beginner-friendly design.
Blackwater Cocktail
The author personally cleared SR26 and defeated Morgoneth on video (published August 2025, v1.2.1.6). The character was played through Veteran and Ultimate difficulty using only easily available items and components.

Devotion Route (In Order)
21- 1.1 point in Crossroads (Chaos).

- 17.Refund Sailor's Guide (4pt returned).
- 18.Refund the Primordial Crossroads point (1pt returned). Primordial stays at 6 from Harvestman's Scythe's and Staff of Rattosh's own grants alone, so nothing is affected.
- 19.[Core] Complete Alladrah's Phoenix (5pt / requires Eldritch 6, Order 3, Primordial 6, already met by the running total; grants Ascendant +2, Eldritch +2). Bind its Phoenix Fire proc to Siphon Souls.
- 20.[Core] Complete Chariot of the Dead (7pt / requires Ascendant 5, Eldritch 5, already met by the running total; grants Chaos +2, Eldritch +3). Bind its Wayward Soul proc to Spectral Binding.
- 21.[Core] Complete Ulzuin's Torch (7pt / requires Chaos 8, Eldritch 15, exactly met by the running total; grants nothing). Bind its Meteor Shower proc to Thermite Mine, then in the late game switch Magi's Fissure proc to Blackwater Cocktail and Solael's Witchblade's Eldritch Fire proc to Ravenous Earth. This lands at exactly 55/55 points including 2 Crossroads points (Chaos, Order).
Gear
- ▸Start as Demolitionist, investing in the mastery bar to unlock Blackwater Cocktail. Either put a few points in it, or go straight for the High Potency modifier (more damage at the cost of a cooldown). Add 1 point each in Flame Touched and Vindictive Flame, and push Cocktail to 12 points. Kyzoggs Skull is a solid early off-hand, and after level 5 you can slot a Searing Ember component into it to unlock Fireblast, which alone can carry you to Warden Krieg.
- ▸Invest in the Demolitionist mastery bar to unlock Demon Fire — get a couple of points in before Burrwitch Village, where the fire-resistant soldiers at the riftgate are otherwise a pain. Then unlock Necromancer and invest in Spectral Binding for a big health boost. Chase Slith Primal Ring and Shambler's Heart (amulet). After level 15, craft Flintcore Bolts to upgrade Fireblast.
- ▸Once Spectral Binding is maxed, focus on Demolitionist: unlock Thermite Mine, Blast Shield, and Agonizing Flames, and push the Blackwater Cocktail line to 12 points. Chase Martin's Crest (medal) and Incendiary Shoulderplates (not a guaranteed drop, but worth farming) in Cronley's Hideout.
- ▸Push Thermite Mine to around 13 points. Chase Zarthuzellan's Codex (50% drop rate) from the boss Zarthuzellan at the end of Steps of Torment. Check faction gear too, like Devils Chestguard from Devil's Crossing.
- ▸Push the Demolitionist mastery bar to 50 points and Necromancer to 25 (picking up Necromancer skills earlier is largely wasted without the gear to support them, so this can wait). Chase Ugdenbog Flamestrife (boosts Blackwater Cocktail damage) from Janaxia in Ugdenbog. Chase Vilgazor's Heart (this build's amulet through the late game, converting Grenado to Fire) from Vilgazor on floor 2 of Ancient Grove (skeleton key). After unlocking Steelcap District, buy the Conflagration relic blueprint from Hyram. From level 50 onward, Black Legion's Legion Greaves/Headguard are also options.
- ▸In Forgotten Gods, chase the Compelled Wraith off-hand (there are multiple variants — only the "Compelled" one works for this build), and invest in Siphon Souls once unlocked. Push the Cult of Solael to Revered (buy and craft the Mark of Burning Shadows blueprint at level 90, converting most of your Necromancer skills to Fire).
- ▸Chase the level 94 Fettan Mask from an urn near the Maw of Enat, close to the Korvan Sands riftgate. At level 94 you can equip Blazeheart (a reward from Dailas's quest chain).
- ▸Aim for Elite Coven Arcane Chestguard (chest), Bysmiel-Sect Legguards (pants, Dreeg-Sect Legguards also works), 2x Gollus' Ring, and a crafted Malmouth Arcane Girdle (belt).
- ▸If energy feels short, use 2x Solar Radiance augments on your weapon slots, or a Prismatic Diamond in your helmet.
- ▸Late-game, transitioning into the Blightlord set is an option — the playstyle stays largely the same, though you'll need to respec Grenado and Ulzuin's Chosen, and it frees up spare skill points you can put into Master of Death.
Playstyle & Notes
- ▸Keep throwing Blackwater Cocktail and Grenado while Thermite Mine and Siphon Souls whittle down enemy resistances.
- ▸Layer on extra damage with Ravenous Earth, and lean on Spectral Binding and Vindictive Flame to keep fighting.
- ▸Single-target damage is weak, so keeping enemies inside your AoE effects matters — expect to effectively facetank tougher enemies.
- ▸Projectile-heavy enemies (notably Rashalga the Mad Queen and Valdaran) are natural counters, since their retaliation effects can one-shot a projectile-based build like this.
This build runs tight on attribute points, so watch your gear and component choices from early on. Fill resistances steadily up to the cap (around 80%), and lean on Siphon Souls and Thermite Mine to cut enemy resistance and boost damage.
Single-target damage is weak, so solo boss fights drag on. Attribute points are tight, and gear requirements can force awkward choices. Survival leans on health regen and damage reduction rather than raw toughness. Bosses that punish projectiles with retaliation effects (Rashalga, Valdaran, etc.) are a poor matchup.
Farm Cronley's Hideout for the medal and shoulders, Zarthuzellan at the end of Steps of Torment for the off-hand, Janaxia in Ugdenbog for the weapon-boosting item, Vilgazor on floor 2 of Ancient Grove for the amulet, and the Maw of Enat near the Korvan Sands riftgate for the helm.
